Harry Scott, 77, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday May 13, 2020. He was born on April 1, 1943 to Jim and Chris Scott in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Shaler High School where he excelled at football, wrestling, track and field. Harry graduated from Edinboro University with both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Secondary Education, where he was a four-year letterman for football and wrestling. He then began his 37-year career as an 8th grade social studies teacher, vice principal, football and wrestling coach in the Fox Chapel School District. On December 27, 1969, Harry married Pat (Notariani) and they lovingly raised three daughters in Pittsburgh. He loved to golf, ski, play with his 4 grandchildren and spend time with his family and friends. He was a ski instructor at Seven Springs for 15 years where he made many great friends and memories. He taught his daughters to ski and introduced numerous middle school students to skiing but his favorite times were skiing with his grandchildren. His ready smile and easy-going personality will be missed by all who knew him. Harry is survived by his wife of 50 years Pat; daughters Gillian Scott, Courtney Clarke (Michael, Emerson, Riley), Devon Drechsel (Derek, Hadley, Lewis); sister Betty Kakavis (Nick), niece Susan Powers (Mike) and nephew Scott Kakavis.Funeral services and Internment will be held privately by the family. A celebration of Harry’s life will occur at a later date. Donations in Harry’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements made by the Bock Funeral Home, LTD., Glenshaw.
