Shawn Alan Cordell, of Glenshaw, was born April 20, 1984, and passed away suddenly on April 8, 2021, a few weeks shy of his 37th birthday. Shawn’s love for his family ran deep, and he leaves behind a host of people who are heartbroken and miss him dearly. He is survived by his parents Robert and Cynthia White (Barbor); his grandfather, James Barbor; his brother, Matthew (Meagan); his niece, Ava; aunts and uncles, George (Sandy) White, Karen (Jerry) Morgan, Keith (Karen) Barbor; cousins, Scott (Amy) White, Chris (Sylvia) Morgan, Michelle (Ryan) Kucera, Doug (Emily) Barbor; and many more friends and family members. Shawn was a 2003 graduate of Shaler Area High School and went on to earn a degree in Information Technology Support, which allowed him to volunteer and later pursue a career in the technology field. Shawn will be remembered for his love of history documentaries and war movies, countless game nights with family and friends (especially when he came out of nowhere to win Horse-Race Rummy), and moments when he would argue with his niece about his old room. Mostly though, Shawn will be remembered for the unconditional love he showed to his family and friends. Those he leaves behind are thankful for the memories that will help to fill the void. A private memorial service for family members and close friends will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on April 24. The service will be live-streamed for those who wish to attend virtually. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Autism Speaks or Autism Society, in memory of Shawn. Arrangements made by the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., Glenshaw.
