Alexander J. Trilivas

Alexander Jerry Trilivas, age 70, a loving father and devoted husband, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at his home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Even though he lost his 5-year battle with early onset Alzheimer’s and other medical issues, the warmth from his bright smile and big heart will leave a beacon of light for all in his life. Alex was born in the steel city town on June 1, 1953, to his Greek parents, Jerry and Mary Trilivas (born Gianoutsis). His childhood and early adulthood in Pittsburgh made him an empathetic and thoughtful human to anyone he met. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 1975 with an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a later-earned graduate degree in Business Administration. He met the love of his life, Amy Porco, who he married in 1985. It was love at first sight for Alex and two spent the next 39 years together, happily residing in the Pittsburgh area. The couple had two children, Jerry and Alesandra. Alex’s children and his were the light of his life, and he was blessed to have them by his side throughout his entire arduous health journey. He was a dedicated and caring family man who let his love and faith guide him, devoting many years as Treasurer for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Even though he took his role as Treasurer seriously, he also made sure to have fun with the yearly Greek food festivals, which can be seen in the photo. He was always smiling, but even more around food, especially Greek food. He took great pride in his Greek background but took even more pride in being a stay-at-home dad and supporting his wife’s career as a 40+ year Pittsburgh Public School teacher. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Amy Trilivas; his two beloved children, Jerry Mario Trilivas (wife, Angie) and Alesandra Maria Trilivas; his caring sister, Patricia Trilivas; his favorite Greek aunt, Katherine Straw. The family will welcome friends and relatives to the visitation on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 2-8 PM at Bock Funeral Home, Ltd 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Saturday starting at 11 AM. The family asks for whatever you feel is appropriate – flowers (lilies were Alex’s favorite), a donation to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, or The Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family on the Bock website.
