Barbara Ann Braidic

Barbara Braidic of Shaler Twp, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, with family by her side. Beloved wife for 62 years to Jerome Braidic. Loving mother to Gretchen Braidic and Matte Braidic, both of Pittsburgh. Devoted grandmother of Mario DiPasquale. Sister of Albert Bialek (Ellen), Connie Uhl (Gene) and the late Bernie Panzo (Mike). Cherished aunt to 18 nieces and nephews.  Barb was a talented musician, playing the organ for over 60 years at churches in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, including Saint Bonaventure and Saint Alexis. For many years, Barb led countless young women in Girl Scouts. She taught girls to become leaders through hiking, camping, boating, singing and crafts.  She was famous for her apple strudel, nut rolls, decorated cakes, and cookies.  Barb was committed to her family and her heritage.  She was a member of the Croatian Day committee, hosted Saint Nicholas parties for the children and volunteered at the Pittsburgh Polish Festival.  Her homemade pierogies were a family favorite.  She led our family band in the playing of Polish and other favorite Christmas carols every year. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church, Glenshaw on Monday at 10 AM  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Hills Community Outreach. Barb was an avid supporter of their mission to address the needs of people in crisis, hardship, and poverty.
