In loving memory of Barbara Anne Lintelman, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, our beloved Barbara “Barb, Mom, Gram, Gip” passed peacefully at the age of 91, leaving behind a world that feels a little less bright without her smile and her spark.
Beloved wife of the late Maitland “Rich” Lintelman, loving mother of Michael R. (Nancy), Marc, Blake (Cindy) and Greg (late Tracy) Lintelman; Proud grandmother of Chelsea, Blake, Macae, Brittany, and Taylor and 11 precious great-grandchildren; dear sister of Janet Davis of Sumter, SC.
Barbara lived a life so full- rich with love, laughter, and purpose- that even at 91 she joked she was still a “spring chicken”. Barbara had a spunk that never faded and a mischievous twinkle in her eye that told you fun was just around the corner. She never said no to an invitation for adventure anytime and pretty much anywhere. Her humor was legendary- quick and clever. She never met a stranger and kept a wide circle of friends for decades upon decades. When she walked into a room, she made everyone feel like they belonged there- like they were exactly who she’d been hoping to see.
Born on June 28, 1934, in Johnstown, PA. Barb’s family owned a bakery, which explains why Barbara’s cooking skills were nothing short of incredible- pot roast, chicken a la king and her legendary banana bread are just a few she was known for. She survived the infamous Johnstown flood of 1936, separated from her family during the chaos, they were reunited the following day. Barbara was the top female athlete of her Somerset High School class. She remained a lifelong sport enthusiast, excelling in everything from duck pins to golf. She loved watching professional football. No one was allowed to call her during a Steelers game.
Following graduation from Mercy School of Nursing in Johnstown, for more than 30 years, she served as a Registered Nurse in a number of Pennsylvania hospitals, private practices, and skilled nursing home locations.
Barbara was a fierce card player, a devoted member of her bridge club. She loved reading the newspaper, Facetiming with friends and family, and never ever missed her regular hair appointments. She found joy in simple pleasures, trips to Lake Erie, Clifton Park, NY, Hilton Head, SC, mountain getaways for her brother’s famous fish fry and sharing laughter over a good meal. Until the very end, she still wore her signature pink lipstick and never missed a sale on a good blouse. Barbara is and will be deeply missed by her family. We’ll carry her with us always-in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, the recipes we make and in the way we try to love people a little more like she did.
Friends will be received on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:15 AM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
