Carl S. Criss III

Carl S. Criss III, age 71, of Shaler Twp., departed from his earthly family on Saturday, May 17th 2025 to be with his heavenly loved ones. Beloved husband of 44 years to Prissy; loving father of Carl (Casse) IV, Ashlee (Fiancé Brandon Harrison) Phelps, Jamie (Leah), and the late Michael David Criss; proud G-Pap of Damian Harrison and Carl V; dear brother of Lillian “Bunny” Criss-Geisler, Debbie (Frank) Licari, and Jon (Laura) Criss; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that he loved and took in as his own children. Carl was a US Air Force Veteran proudly serving his country for eight years. He was raised in Oakmont and returned to Oakmont after the military to start his family with his wife. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan while also sharing a passion for cars, hunting, and everything outdoors. Carl was a successful and extremely talented dental ceramist serving the greater Pittsburgh area for many decades. He made people smile whether it was with the product of his profession or with his sense of humor. Many would even refer to Carl as the communal father of Shaler Township. He was a dedicated animal lover, especially his beloved dogs. Above all the things that brought great joy to Carl’s life, he loved and valued the time he spent with his family and friends more than anything else. Friends will be received on Sunday May 25 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
