DONA GEORGE EDWARDS of Hampton Township born on July 1, 1952, to Mary and George C. George, passed unexpectedly at home on Friday November 25, 2022. The night before she passed, her entire family was gathered for Thanksgiving dinner, and the room was filled with food, laughter, and love – exactly as she wanted. As a 40-year chocolate industry veteran and co-founder of Edward Marc Chocolatier and The Milkshake Factory, Dona became known to many in Pittsburgh as the ‘Candy Lady’ always giving chocolate to those she met. She was fiercely dedicated to the family business she built with her husband and three children. She embodied drive, passion, and leadership that was felt by everyone she touched. As the family business grew, she felt most at home at her original store in Pittsburgh’s Southside neighborhood. Dona thrived in building relationships and passed on her love of chocolate to all she encountered. Her family will never forget her larger than life spirit and will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Beloved wife of Jeffrey C. Edwards; Loving mother of Chris (Albert), Dana (Tom), and Mark (Meaghan); Dear grandmother of seven grandchildren Austin (13), Charlie (10), Andrew (11), Alexis (9), George (7), Anastasia (7 months), and Joaquin (7 months); Sister of Chris A. George and Stacy George (Donald); Daughter of the late George C. George and Mary Pappas George. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mount Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw, PA 15116. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 30 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church: 985 Providence Boulevard Pittsburgh, PA 15237. The service will be followed by a private family burial.
