Edward V. Burke

Edward Burke, age 65, of Etna, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Beloved husband of Kim (Bragg) Burke; loving father of Mallory (Cody), Conor (Alyssa), and Morgan Burke; dear brother of Mary Beth Burke; proud uncle of Katie (Mike), Liz, and Eddie Mach; cherished son of the late Edward and Patricia Burke (Flavin); and the best cat dad to Luca.

Ed had a huge heart, a big smile, and a deep love for his family, friends, and community. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Ed’s kindness and warmth touched everyone he met. He was a dedicated mental health therapist, a proud Duquesne University graduate, and a member of the Etna Borough Council. He shared that Duquesne connection with his children Conor (Alyssa) and Morgan, who also earned their degrees there — something that always made him smile.

A lover of nature and a tireless advocate for his community, Ed selflessly devoted his time to numerous local boards and was instrumental in starting the Garden of Etna. His passion for connection and growth will continue to bloom through the many lives and projects he nurtured.

A Celebration of Life and volunteer event will be held in the spring to honor Ed’s legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etna Community Organization (ECO) in support of the construction of the Etna Center for Community.
