Heaven gained a beautiful angel, Geraldine (Sevcik) Wagner, 86, of Shaler Township, peacefully passed away on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Madeline Sevcik. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Gerry was born December 7, 1939 in Pittsburgh where she spent her entire life. She married her husband, Don, on April 29, 1961, and together they raised a daughter and a son. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Don. Her loss will be severely felt by her daughter, Debra Yarnot (Steve), her son Tim, and her cherished grandson, Ray. She is survived by her brother Frank Sevcik (Lynnette) of Cheswick, sister-in-law Karen Wagner (Jack) of Callery, and sister- in- law Kim Quinten (Denny) of Saxonburg. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong neighbors, and many friends.
Gerry began her secretarial career at the Western Penitentiary on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Eventually she worked in the library at the H.J. Heinz company, and Glenshaw Glass in the purchasing department. She spent nearly ten years being a ‘lunch lady’ at Marzolf School, where she eventually retired.
Gerry was an avid reader visiting the Shaler Library quite often. She loved vacationing in Florida with her daughter and spending time at the beach. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She enjoyed meeting once a month for lunch with classmates from Allegheny High School. She was a devoted Catholic, a member of St. Nicholas Parish, in Millvale where she put in numerous hours volunteering for the flea market and bake sale.
Though Gerry has gone on to her eternal home, the love she gave, and the life she led will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of Blessing Service at 2:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
