James T. Claus, Age 83, of Glenshaw, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Beloved husband of Gloria “Jean” (Weigand) Claus of 62 years; loving father of Thomas (Erin) Claus, Mary Ann (David) Raible, Peggy (Michael) Yakich, and Jeffrey Claus; Proud grandfather of Jennifer (Dave), Justin (Sarah), Lauren (Tom), Julie, Samantha (Steven), Kristin, Jacob, and Michael and great-grandfather of Mackenzie, Emily, Adam, Colton, Easton, and Morgan; Dear brother of Regis Claus, Barbara Ann Dietz, and Ronald Claus; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Kathryn Claus and brother Gerald W. Claus. Jim had a long history in the mechanical contracting field, starting at National Valve in Etna, working for Limbach, Schneider and McCarl’s LLC. Thanks to Foster McCarl for helping him to launch James T. Claus, Inc. Jim oversaw many mechanical contracting projects in the Southwestern PA region, including, but not limited to The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and PNC Park, followed by years of consulting after retirement for UPMC Passavant and Highmark. Jim was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers and Pitt football, and collector of Steeler Memorabilia, but his favorite past time was his love to travel, especially the vacations he planned with each of his grandchildren. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Matthew Parish, All Saints Church, Etna.
