Marguerite B. Reed

Marguerite B. Reed passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024 in Knoxville TN. Born July 25, 1925, she was the youngest daughter of Peter and Mary Bettegar, of Newell, PA, surviving sister of “Buddy” Bettegar and Leah Krepps. Married to Thomas H. Reed in 1948, she was his devoted wife of 44 years until his passing in 1992. She was the much-loved mother of three sons, the late David C. Reed (Dolores), Arthur T. Reed (Joellen), and Robert W. Reed (Mary). Grandmother to Kathryn (Adam) Hribar, and Thomas, Michael, and Mark Reed. Mom was a long-time resident of Glenshaw PA, from the early 1950’s until 2017, when she moved to Knoxville to be closer to family. She was a member of Glenshaw Presbyterian Church and volunteered for many years at North Hills Passavant Hospital in the gift shop and snack bar. Her hobbies included needlepoint, sewing, and baking the best pies ever! The family will receive visitors at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw on Friday July 5, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 6 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private.
