Raymer F. Mertz

Raymer F. Mertz, age 66, of Shaler Twp., formerly of Millvale, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, July 6, 2026; beloved husband of Joyce (Sporter) Mertz; loving father of Raymer (Anna) Mertz and Erica (Steve) Strafalace; proud pappy of Emma and Lucy; dear brother of Karen Mertz Burke, Edward (Ilona) Mertz, and Timothy (late Donna) Mertz; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Raymers favorites memories were the adventures and quiet moments he shared with family and friends at Blackwater Falls, his hunting camp in Portage, and being with his beloved dog, Abby. His greatest joy in retirement was being a loving presence in the lives of his granddaughters and “pappy pickups” after school. Friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, where a Blessing Service will be held at 8:00 PM.
