Richard J. Stritzinger

Richard Stritzinger, of Shaler Twp., passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Beloved husband of Sally (Pistella) Stritzinger and loving father of Melissa Stritzinger (Ryan Jablonowski). Born June 2, 1945, in Hampton Township to the late John and Virginia Stritzinger. Brother of John (Alice) Stritzinger of Ann Arbor, Michigan; son-in-law of the late Frank and Sally Pistella; Brother-in-law of Frank Pistella of Raleigh, NC, Lisa (William) Tudor of Ft Myers, FL, Michael Pistella of Minneapolis, MN.  Also survived by nieces and nephews. Rich was a graduate of Hampton High School Class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Verdun, France.  He then served as a Correctional Officer at the Allegheny County Jail for nearly 40 years until he retired in 2007. He enjoyed maintaining his yard and vegetable garden, watching sports, and being a devoted father and husband. Friends will be received on Wednesday February 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD, 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 22 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish , St. Sebastian Church, 311 Siebert Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association. Burial will be held on Friday March 1 at 2:00 PM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
