Sylvia A. Suhanin

Sylvia Ann Suhanin of Shaler Township on Tuesday March 5, 2024. Sylvia was preceded in death by her twin Paul Frank of Chula Vista California and her sister, Constance Frank, of Mt. Assisi Convent.  She was the beloved wife of Raymond R. Suhanin, 1926-1980. Her parents were Michael P. and Emma (Shuba) Frank.  Mother of Mark (Paulette Price) Suhanin, Mary Jo (Kenneth) Rusnak, Mary Lou (Kent) Baiker, Joseph (Ann Crouch) Suhanin, Raymond (Robin Brown) Suhanin and the late Robert Suhanin. Dear grandmother to Eric Rusnak, Amy Baiker and Michele Baiker and great grandmother to Shaylee Baiker and Carter Guile. During her younger years, Sylvia was an Operator for Bell Telephone and later as a Switch Board Operator at North Hills Passavant Hospital.  She enjoyed painting and Calligraphy and tending to her flower garden.  Her door was always open to friends and family offering food and Pepsi! No one could leave without her asking “what can I give you!” Many holidays were celebrated at her home.  Sylvia was an avid reader loving a good mystery.  She would daily watch political commentary and news and enjoyed debating politics. Sylvia was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and when unable to attend, she watched daily Mass on TV. She was greatly devoted to the Blessed Mother. Arrangements will be made for a Spring Memorial/Mass Service.  Sylvia’s wishes were to be remembered in Prayer.  The family thanks all who were so kind and giving to mom during her golden years.  She treasured you all.
