Beverly Anton

Sunday, March 22, 2020

Beverly Anton, age 84, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, at home.                                                                                                                                                                                       There will be no public services.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Bev was born April 17, 1935, in Pittsburgh, where, except for a couple years in Anchorage, she lived her entire life.  Raising four boys would have been plenty of work for any average woman, but Bev accomplished much outside the home as well.  The bulk of her first career was spent as a tipstaff in the Allegheny County court system, and later a legal secretary for decades.  In recent years, until the age of 80, Bev thrived in the retail arena, using her vast people skills working for a large local ski shop and a major department store. Bev was tenacious, and embraced new technology at every turn.  She fiercely protected and provided for her four sons, and lovingly welcomed their spouses into the family, and enjoyed beyond measure her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bev was preceded in death by her son, Mark (surviving Julie) Shreckengast, of Palos Verdes Estates, CA. She is survived by her husband, Richard Anton, and sons Randy (Diane) Shreckengast, State College, PA; Keith (Mary Anne) Shreckengast, Volant, PA; and Scott (Julie) Shreckengast, Edenton, NC.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Contributions can be made to Pittsburgh Parkinson Foundation.

So very sorry to hear of Bev’s passing. As cousins Bev and I go way back. I can remember the day Bev thought me how to dance the box step in preparation for my first dance. I will miss Bev and her texts through out the year. My deepest sympathy to Bev’s sons who she loved fiercely and of course Richard. I’ll just bet that Bev is rejoicing in heaven with Randy, Mark and all who have passed before her. God speed.
