Johanna Cirino Sisca

Johanna Cirino Sisca, peacefully went home to God on Saturday, August 10, 2019.  She was born on July 26, 1920 in Whiskey Run, PA.  She moved to Rochester, NY with her family as a child, returned to Pittsburgh as a young adult and finally settled in Allison Park, PA at her beloved Armarinlea Acres for 66 years.  She died at Milford Place, Milford, DE, exactly two weeks after her 99th birthday.  She attended Madison High School in Rochester, NY and received an associate degree from the Rochester Business Institute.  She was employed at her uncle’s trucking company, her cousin’s beauty salon, at her husband’s hardware store, Sharpsburg Hardware, and finally at PNC Bank as a teller.  She married Arnold (AJ), the love of her life in 1946 on the rainiest day ever in October.  She always said happy was the bride whom it rained on.  And she was all of that.  She was a stay at home mother until her youngest child was in high school.  Over the years, she was a member of St. Ursula Church, the Glenshaw Century Club, the volunteer corps at North Hills Passavant Hospital for 30 years, and the Parkwood Meals on Wheels program.  She enjoyed golf, needlework, dancing, reading, gardening, volunteering, cooking Italian dinners, traveling and fashion.  Johanna is survived by her two children, Nina S. Pletcher of Milford, DE and Arnold J. Sisca, Jr. and his wife, Candace of N. Canton, OH; four grandchildren: Jason M. Pletcher of Bellefonte, PA; Sara M. Pletcher of Milford, DE; Ashley Sisca Klingensmith and her husband, Robert, of Greensburg, PA; 2nd Lt. Logan Coy Sisca of N. Canton, OH, and one great granddaughter, Kylie Grace Pletcher.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Arnold J. Sisca, her daughter, Lea Grace, her parents, Leonard and Grace, and her sister, Carmella “Honey” Cannavo.  Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, October 28, 2019 at 12 Noon at St. Ursula Church in Allison Park, PA.  Internment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sharpsburg, PA.   Donations may be made to the UPMC Passavant Hospital Foundation online in memory of Johanna at  Online donation notifications should be sent to Nina Pletcher; 428 S.
