Helen L. (Schaeffer) McGoun, age 100, of Shaler Twp. on Tuesday February 2, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Elton G. McGoun; loving mother of Elton “Skip” (Sue) McGoun, Kevin (Mary Ann) McGoun, Myron (Jackie) McGoun and Alain Richardson; proud grandmother of Joshua (Jackie) McGoun, Natasha (Massimo) Lista, Jarrod (Fiancé Lauren Simmons) McGoun, Michael McGoun, Nate Cavlovic and Mitchell Cavlovic; dear great-grandmother of Alessia Lista. Helen was a 1938 graduate of Shaler High School, a 1942 graduate of Carnegie Tech, a First Lieutenant in the US Army Medical Corp during WW II. She volunteered for many years at the Shaler North Hills Library, Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, St. Margaret’s Hospital and for Meals 0n Wheels. Friends will be received Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Service will be held in the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, 300 Glenn Ave. Glenshaw on Friday at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Glenshaw Presbyterian Church or Shaler North Hills Library.

My dear friend Alain and all of our beloved McGoun family. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. Helen left behind a beautiful legacy in all of you. Eternally grateful to have so many wonderful memories of a second Mom growing up. There is no doubt she will be smiling down and watching over all of you. So thankful she was able to experience her wonderful Centennial. Seel Street sends our love to W. Glenn....... She was a true gift to us all. Love you,

Oh how I LOVED Mr. and Mrs. McGoun! When worked at the Shaler Library as a teen and young adult I remember their kindness and humor and hard work. And Mrs. McGoun was such a faithful clipper of our coupons- her coupons! And wow, I can’t wait to see them both again on the other side of the Jordan! Many wishes and prays for peace at this time for the family. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mother, grandma, great-grandma with all of us. What a blessing to our community.
