James Richard Romano, Age 79, of Shaler Twp., on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Beloved husband of Maureen Ann Romano; loving father of Colleen Romano, Mark (Stephanie) Romano of CT., and Rebecca Romano (Jeffrey) Smith of Brooklyn Heights, NY; proud grandfather of Sophia, Angela, and Lucia Romano and Jillian and Reagan Smith; dear brother of Marian Kakitsis Romano (Lampros) and Rev. Joseph Romano of Livania, MI. Jim was a graduate of St. Veronica Grade School in Ambridge, Quigley High School, Beattie Technical Institute, and he attended Point Park College. He was an active member of St. Bonaventure Church, Glenshaw, where he served as a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and a Men’s Retreat promoter for St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center. He was a chief Usher, marriage enrichment leader with his wife in Teams of Our Lady. He was also president of the Men’s Club. Jim was a gentle, kind, strong, and holy many for his children, wife, and everyone who crossed his path. May his soul be united with God in Heaven. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, Wildwood, on Friday at 11:00 AM.

Jim, I will miss you, but probably not as much as Kathy, who is also dealing with Alzheimer's. What you two were able to talk about for so long, when we got together will remain a mystery. Maureen, as I have said you light up the room when you enter it. Our support group will continue to need that in the coming days. With love.
